We started as a cement plant in Brazil, then diversified and expanded into new markets. Today, we operate in nine countries in Latin America (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil and Uruguay), North America (Canada and United States), Europe (Luxembourg and Spain) and Asia (Türkiye). Major construction projects

Civil construction projects that attest to our global presence and drive development in different countries.
Viaduto do Chá (Viaduct), São Paulo, Brazil

The construction of one of the most iconic landmarks in the city of São Paulo was our first significant project, carried out from 1936 to 1938. One hundred thousand bags of Votoran Cement were used to build the new 204-meter-long concrete viaduct that replaced the original structure, made of metal.

Michigan Central Station, Michigan, USA

Our structural cement was part of the restoration of Michigan Central Station. The project restored the building to its original grandeur, while also incorporating modern infrastructure and cutting-edge technology. The station, which had been abandoned for 36 years, after closing in 1988, reopened in 2024, marking the end of a long modernization process that revitalized this architectural and cultural landmark in Detroit.

CN Tower, Toronto, Canada

We participated in the construction of one of Canada’s most iconic landmarks. Standing at 553.3 meters tall, this tourist and communications tower welcomes over two million visitors a year, boosting tourism and local commerce. To build this impressive structure, we supplied approximately 40,500 cubic meters of concrete, establishing our presence in one of Canada’s most emblematic projects.

Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, Santiago de Compostela, Spain

Our work on the restoration of this cathedral reinforces our commitment to local culture and communities in countries where we operate. Recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela welcomes pilgrims from all over the world and marks the final stop in the ancient Camino de Santiago. The intervention faced technical challenges, such as humidity and structural issues, and included the restoration of the roofs, dome, the Obradoiro façade and interior. For this complex process, we used specific mortars for rehabilitation and restoration, ensuring the preservation of the history, architecture, religiosity and culture of the site.

Yüksek Hızlı Tren (YHT) High-speed train, Türkiye

Construction of the approximately 350 km long railway line used 1.3 million tonnes of our cement in the section connecting the cities of Kirikkale and Sivas, in the Central Anatolia region. One of the largest investments in mobility in Türkiye, this line connects towns, shortens distances and boosts regional growth through robust and durable infrastructure.

Museum of Contemporary Art (MAR), Mar del Prata, Argentina

This seaside cultural space, inaugurated in 2013, comprises four independent buildings totaling 7,000 square meters, featuring natural lighting and panoramic ocean views. Including exhibition halls, an auditorium, a library and outdoor areas, the museum combines contemporary architecture and structural flexibility, making it one of the city’s main cultural landmarks and an attraction for residents and tourists alike.

Banegas Bridge, Santa Cruz, Bolivia

Built with our cement, this bridge, located in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, is a landmark of connection and regional development. Designed to optimize strength and durability, the project facilitates mobility and connects communities, reinforcing our role in projects that transform infrastructure and drive local growth.

Rambla de los Argentinos, Piriápolis, Uruguay

It is one of Uruguay’s tourism icons and has been declared a National Historic Monument. Stretching 5 km along the seafront and inspired by European design, it underwent extensive renovations between 2014 and 2017 using our products for modernization and preservation. The restoration included a bike path, the recovery of vegetation and the redesign of flowerbeds, ensuring quality and respect for the history of this Uruguayan heritage site.
